How to choose a channel manager for your hotel

A channel manager sends your rates and availability to every OTA at once and brings bookings back. A poor choice causes overbookings and lost time, so check these points first.

OTA connections you need

List the OTAs you sell on today and the ones you want to add. Confirm the channel manager has live, two-way connections to each.

PMS integration

If you use a PMS, check that bookings flow into it automatically and that availability updates go back out. Manual re-entry causes errors.

Speed and reliability

Ask how quickly a change reaches the OTAs and what happens when an OTA connection fails.

Support

You will need help at awkward hours, especially in season. Ask about support hours, response times and who you actually speak to.

Reports

You need booking, revenue and channel reports that you can read and export, so you can see what each channel really delivers.

Pricing and contract

Compare subscription fees, setup fees, per-booking charges and the contract term. Ask what happens if you leave.

Data ownership

Make sure you can export your bookings and rates history, and that the account is in your hotel's name.

Our view

We work with STAAH and Aiosell, and the Foodle+ PMS is compatible with both. The right choice depends on your property, your OTAs and your team. Contact us and we will recommend one after a short call.
